Grabbing on the go snaps during overland transit journeys began in the early 80s. You know, those classic roll film days when one had to actually manually wind the lever, manually set the aperture and shutter speed, and manually focus lenses to get the shot. Hanging out of moving trains, and on the back of trucks capturing images was normal procedure. They were the real days of rugged solo overland travel journeys. The more isolated overland travel journeys are through continents, the better they're remembered. Not a bitumen highway in sight, no yuppie cruise ferries, no deluxe buses, and no luxury trains. This is real solo overland travel.
